Leaside Bridge

Leaside Bridge

The Leaside Bridge (formerly East York Leaside Viaduct) spans the Don River in the City of Toronto, Ontario. The Truss arch bridge carrying Millwood Road was built to connect the two sections of the former borough of East York on October 29, 1927. It underwent extensive upgrades and reconstruction in both 1969 and 2004 to 2006.

The six lane road way is located north of and bears a mild resemblance to the Prince Edward Viaduct (commonly referred to as the Bloor Street Viaduct).

The tiled mosaic handrail was designed by New York architect Calude Bragdon and tiles supplied by Italian Mosaic and Tile Company.

To the south, the bridge separates to become Pape Avenue (west) and Donlands Avenue (east). Both roads curve southbound until they reach Danforth Avenue.
