Locust Grove, Orange County, Virginia

Locust Grove is a community in eastern Orange County, Virginia, United States. Its ZIP code is 22508; the population within that ZIP code was 7605 according to the 2000 Census. While Locust Grove has historically been centered around the intersection of State Routes 20 and 611, most of the current population (and commercial activity) is located along the State Route 3 corridor several miles east, particularly in Lake of the Woods. A gated subdivision founded in 1967 as a resort community built around a man-made lake, Lake of the Woods has grown into a bedroom community for Fredericksburg and points north toward Washington, D.C.. The main campus of Germanna Community College is in Locust Grove, also along Route 3.

During the American Civil War, the Battle of Mine Run, also known as the Mine Run Campaign, took place near Locust Grove in late November and early December of 1863.
