Indian Country Today

"Indian Country Today" is a weekly U.S. newspaper which describes itself as "The Nations' Leading American Indian News Source." Focusing on news of interest to the Native American community, the newspaper was founded in 1981 by Tim Giago in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1988, it was purchased by Four Directions Media, Inc., which is owned and operated by the Oneida Nation of New York. They are also the owners of a very successful casino operation, the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The newspaper is headquartered in Canastota, New York.

Notoriety
