The Thin Red Line

The Thin Red Line

The phrase has now also taken on the more general meaning of the manner in which soldiers and military personnel hold the line between the safety of a country and individuals or armies intent on destroying the country. "Red" is also taken to refer to the blood shed by soldiers in combat.
