Andre Ryan Adams (born 17 July, 1975, Auckland) is a New Zealand cricketer of Caribbean descent who has played one Test and 39 One Day International, taking 52 wickets at a bowling average of just under 30. He has also scored over 400 ODI runs with a batting strike rate above 100. He plays domestic cricket for Auckland but also turned out for Essex in the 2005 English season, returning to the county in 2006.

Adams is a bowling allrounder, who is a hard-hitting lower order batsman. His career began to decline in 2002 when a back injury saw Jacob Oram jump ahead of him in the allrounders que. Adams was part of the New Zealand side that made the Super Sixes of the 2003 World Cup but soon afterwards fell out of favour with the selectors. He remained in the cricketing wilderness until he was selected in New Zealand's ODI squad for the 2004 NatWest Series in England.

Adams' recent domestic performances have been top rate, causing some to suggest he should be recalled to the national team for the 2007-08 tours of Bangladesh and England. However due to comments in the media, Adams effectively removed himself from contention by criticizing the coaching regime and his treatment by John Bracewell. At this stage it is unknown what the future holds for Adams.

Nottinghamshire

On the 21st May 2008, it was confirmed that Andre has signed a two-year deal at Nottinghamshire and will provide cover for England pacemen Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad after his short spell last season.
