Jillian Michaels (born 18 February, 1974) [cite web| title=Biographical information from IMDB | url=http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1992190/bio] is a fitness expert who gained prominence as a trainer on the NBC weight-loss reality series "The Biggest Loser" (USA). Michaels was the trainer for the red team until 2006, when she was replaced by Kim Lyons. She returned in 2007 as the black team coach, competing against Kim's red team and Bob Harper's blue team. Along with Bob Harper, Jillian is also a trainer in the Australian version of the show. She began her career in exercise because she was considerably overweight before her teenage years (although not to the same extent as the contestants she whips into shape now). As a young adult, her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class, which was a new beginning for Jillian. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

Michaels' martial arts training includes the disciplines of Muay Thai and Akarui-Do, including experience with the use of nunchaku. She uses a blend of strength training techniques with her clients, including kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, plyometrics, and weight training. According to her official homepage, "Jillian lives in Los Angeles with her beloved and faithful Chihuahua, Baxter. When she’s not on the TV set, she enjoys traveling and getting involved in charitable activities. She is a celebrity advisor to National Day of Dance for Heart Health, an organization that encourages people to make exercise fun and to laugh, learn and dance to a healthier heart."

She is the youngest of the three trainers on the American Biggest Loser series; there is a nine-year gap between her age and rival trainer Bob's age, and she is also one year younger than one-time rival Kim.

Jillian Michaels currently hosts a Sunday talk radio show on Los Angeles' KFI (640 AM).

In the 2008-2009 holiday season, she will launch a new video game called "Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009" for the Nintendo Wii. Win-loss records on "The Biggest Loser"

Overall, Michaels has the best win/loss records of all trainers on every American and Australian season she participated in. Excluding America's season 3, in every American season she took part in (as well as Australia's Biggest Loser Season 1), she has always had one of her contestants, either from the red team or the black team (depending on the season), win the competition. In season 4, her black team completely wiped out both Kim's red team and Bob's blue team, which also eliminated them from the competition because they had no other players to represent them as finalists at the finale. In season 5, for the first time ever, she and Bob tied for the victory because the winner, Ali, was neither a part of the blue team or the black team and was shared between the two trainers (Although for a technicality, Bob would've won because the Pink Team was originally his for the first 4 weeks of the competition). In Australia's season two, she and Australian trainer Michelle Bridges shared the red team, and were narrowly beaten by the Commando. In season 3, she, Bob, and the Commando shared the black team. They were all temporarily eliminated at one point, but then a twist let two of their contestants come back; one was eliminated again, and the other took a money offer and surrendered his place in the finale, and thus Bob and Jillian had surrendered as well. This was the only time that she had surrendered her place in the finale. Keep in mind that Bob and Jillian's team was significantly smaller than the teams of Shannan Ponton and Michelle Bridges (4 members for Bob and Jillian, as opposed to 7 members each for Shannan and Michelle), which made it harder to Bob and Jillian to win, and this disadvantage ultimately cost them the game. There were also only two times that Bob won over Jillian, and those two times were in the special editions; excluding season 3, Jillian has always beaten Bob in the main competition. The only time Bob won the main competition was when Jillian did not participate in season three and Bob beat Kim.
