Plentzia

Plentzia (Basque, Plencia in Spanish) is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country, in northern Spain. The town has 3,949 inhabitants (2005).

Plentzia is located 27 km north-east of Bilbao. It is part of the Greater Bilbao metropolitan area, as well as being the terminus of the first line of the city's underground.

Plentzia is a resort town with a large beach beside the river "Butrón" estuary, in a round, shell-shaped bay shared with neighbouring Gorliz.
