Tanjōjutsu

Tanjōjutsu

is the art of handling the Japanese short stick tanjō.It is based on a form of self-defense martial art using an umbrella or a cane to fight, but now a tanjō, which is 90 cm in length is used for tanjōjutsu.

Elements of using the tanjō can be found in several other martial arts including aikido.
