AMC 3

AMC-3 (formerly GE-3) is a communications satellite owned by SES Americom currently in geostationary orbit. It was built by Lockheed Martin based on the A2100A design, and launched September 4, 1997 from Cape Canaveral aboard an Atlas IIAS launch vehicle. AMC-3 is situated at 87° west longitude coord|0|-87|display=title, providing coverage of North America with twenty-four C band transponders of 12-18 watts each, and the same number of K_u band transponders with amplifier powers of 60 watts. Current users in October 2005 include Fox Sports Net and PBS, among other services.

The satellite has an expected lifetime of at least 15 years.
