Kuwait National English School

Kuwait National English School , one of the premier international schools in Kuwait, is a private non-profit making institution located in the Hawally district of Kuwait city. Its main campus opened in 1995 after relocating from outgrown smaller premises at Surra. It is an "All Age School" something that is becoming more unusual in this day and age. Thus a child can enter the school at the age of three years , enjoy a complete quality education over fifteen years and then proceed to a chosen university with full A Level accreditation.

The Kuwait National English School is housed in an old building that has been carefully maintained and modernised over the years. Today KNES offers state of the art computer laboratories and science facilities that are amongst the finest in Kuwait. Sports needs are not forgotten either, the school possesses a vast sports hall plus a swimming pool that is built to Olympic specifications.

The school has four main departments which include:

1. The Kinder Heart Pre School for very young children.

2. The Kindergarten, Reception and Primary Department which caters for children between the ages of four and eleven years.

3. The Secondary Department that offers a full range of IGCE , A/S and A level courses to pupils over the age of eleven years.

4. The Special Educational Needs Department which offers specialist education for pupils between the ages of four and eighteen years who have learning problems caused by disability and disablement.

The school delivers the English National Curriculum to all of its pupils via the English language.Arabic is used for the teaching of Islam and Arabic itself. Classes are small with a very high pupil teacher ratio.

The Special Needs Department has a maximum of eight children in each class , all classes being staffed with a teacher and an assistant teacher.
