History

"Stacato" is a comic strip and webcomic written and drawn by Shawn Handyside. Currently published on its own web site, and in several newspapers including the Manchester Mirror, Concord Mirror, and Salem Observer. Has also been published in 168 magazine and Artistic Vibrations magazine. The story revolves around a recent college graduate, his college roommates, a talking basketball who plays GameCube and an evil 90 MHz computer trying to enslave humanity. Strips are usually presented in horizontal four panel format and in full color. The first official strip was published in print and on the web in 1997, however some strips featuring members of the cast in print date even farther back. Originally, the prints were made in black and white, but the [http://www.stacatocomic.com/archive-010.php 46th strip] and onward were created and published in color. The website underwent a change in July 2008. [http://www.stacatocomic.com Stacatocomic.com] , was the first and primary website where the first 231 comics are archived. Part of the comics archived on the old site are not truly 'Stacato' style. They are called Fork You by Handyside himself. Without these, there are only 226 strips. Several are hosted by other webcomic creators on their sites. The new site, [http://www.stacomic.com Stacomic.com] , is the new and improved version hosting newly made comics made by Handyside.
