1944 as AM 1340 CKFI, aDominion Network affiliate owned by local businessman J. G. McLaren. The station moved to AM 800 in1952 , and adopted the CFOB callsign in1955 .The station was acquired by Fawcett Broadcasting, in
1960 . Fawcett sold the station to Border Broadcasting in1966 , but reacquired it in1971 .In
