Akateko (alternatively, Acateco", Acatec, Conob"') is a Mayan language sometimes referred to as Western Q'anjob'al as it is very closely related to that language. It is spoken primarily in the municipality of San Miguel Acatán in the western highlands of Guatemala, although there are a small number of speakers native to Mexico and a larger number of Guatemalan speakers of Akateko living in Mexico.
