Duchess Louise Amalie of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel

Duchess Louise Amalie of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel

Louise Amalie of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1722 – 1780) was daughter of Ferdinand Albert II, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. In 1742, she married Augustus William, Prince of Prussia, the second son of King Frederick William I of Prussia. Because his older brother, Frederick the Great, had no children, their oldest son inherited the throne.

They had the following children:
*King Frederick William II of Prussia (1744-1797)
*Frederick Henry Charles, Prince of Prussia (1747-1767)
*Wilhelmina, Princess of Prussia (1751-1820), married William V, Prince of Orange
*George Charles Emil, Prince of Prussia (1758-1759)
