Furmanov (town)

Furmanov ( _ru. Фу́рманов) is a town in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia, also known as Sereda ( _ru. Середа) from 1918 to 1941. Population: 40,874 2002. Geographical coordinates: coord|57|15|N|41|05|E.

In 1918, it was incorporated as a town by the name of Sereda.On March 13, 1941, it was renamed Furmanov after writer and Bolshevik Dmitri Furmanov.
