"Hounds of Love" is the title track of the "Hounds of Love" album by Kate Bush, the third of the album's four singles. The song was released on February 24 1986. The song is about being afraid to fall in love (in the song this feeling is compared to being chased by a pack of hounds). The song reached number 18 in the UK Singles Chart.

The versions worldwide differ slightly: The UK version is 3:02 minutes long, but the USA single mix included an additional chorus just after the second chorus. The words "it's in the trees, it's coming!" heard at the beginning of the track are sampled from the British 1957 horror film "Night of the Demon" and are spoken by an actor from the film, Maurice Denham. The song was covered in 1998 by the Australian band Bluebottle Kiss. It was covered in 2005 by two bands: the British post-punk band The Futureheads (making it to #8 on the UK charts), and Australian pop band Frente!. It was covered in 2007 by Syracuse, New York indie rockers Ra Ra Riot as a WOXY.com Lounge Act.
