Aston Botterell

Aston Botterell is a village and small civil parish in the Bridgnorth district of Shropshire, England, about 8 miles south-west of Bridgnorth. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 74.

"ASTON BOTTERELL, a parish in the hundred of Stottesdon, in the county of Salop, 6 miles to the N.W. of Cleobury Mortimer. Bridgnorth is its post town. It lies on the west side of the river Rhea, at the foot of Clee Hill, and includes the chapelry of Bold. In the reign of Henry III. this place held the rank of a market town, the manor at that time belonging to the family of the Botterells. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford, of the value of £367, in the patronage of the Duke of Cleveland. The church is dedicated to St. Michael. This village is a meet for the Wheatland hounds."
