The Mandarin Oriental Singapore (zh-sp|s=文华东方大酒店|p=Wénhuá Dōngfāng Dàjiǔdiàn) is a five star deluxe hotel in Marina Centre, Singapore. Its fan-shaped building on Marina Square is a landmark of Marina Bay's waterfront.

History

Opened in 1987, the hotel went under a major revamp from August 2004 to March 2005. The hotel was closed from August to 30 November 2004. It reopened the following day, but the hotel was fully completed in March. The hotel was totally upgraded, and given a more comtemporary look. It was designed by LTW Design Works, which worked on its sister hotel, The Oriental Bangkok. Both these hotels are managed by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

On September 25 2007, the hotel renamed itself Mandarin Oriental, from the original The Oriental.cite news | author = Lim Wei Chean | title = Which hotel is it anyway? | publisher = "The Straits Times" | date = 23 July 2007]

It was at this meeting that IOC President, Jacques Rogge, gave a perfect score to the Singapore organisers of the session.
