Kingsthorpe College "(KC)", formerly Kingsthorpe Community College is a large secondary school in Kingsthorpe, Northamptonshire. The school is set on one site, which is located on Boughton Green Road. It was previously on two sites, the other being located on Welford Road, which is located on the A5199. This site ended educating pupils in 2007, and is due to become housing. The college is a sports college, after changing from being a Language College. It is also next to one site of the University of Northampton allowing easy access of their facilities if necessary. The headteacher is Mrs Judith Long and the deputy headteacher is Mr Moreton. The year groups are separated horizontally into Purple, Gold and Blue bands (representing the school colours), but are now separated vertically into five colour "houses", namely Purple, Red, Gold, Green and Blue. Since the 2007/2008 term, a new building has been used (officially opened by MP Ed Balls on October 18 2007)
