Storm windows

Storm windows are windows which are mounted outside or inside of the main glass windows of a house.cite book | title =Home Energy Projects: An Energy Conservation Guide for Do-it-yourselfers | publisher =DIANE Publishing | date =1996 | location = | pages =Page 62 | url =http://books.google.com/books?id=AcO7_19D8j8C&pg=PA62&dq=%22Storm+windows%22&as_brr=1&ie=ISO-8859-1&sig=OK3wnVFmuiWfCtoMxNUYdDVlgzY#PPA62,M1 | doi = | id = ISBN 078813373X ]

Most commonly, they are found in cold climates to serve as a retrofit on existing windows in order to improve their thermal efficiencies.cite book | last =Oliver R. Storm windows can range from rigidly mounted glass exterior windows to mounted plastic sheets which merely serve to cut the wind exposure of the inner glass windows - and therefore the wind chill experienced by the glass.
