Bardas (disambiguation)

Bardas (disambiguation)

Bardas or Vardas was a medieval Greek name of Armenian origin, originally alluding to Saint Vardan. Some genealogists hypothesize that three Byzantine nobles named Bardas descended from Mamikonians:

*Bardas, uncle and regent under Michael III.
*Bardas Skleros, a famous rebel against Basil II.
*Bardas Phocas, another famous rebel against the same Emperor.
