Lady Elizabeth Basset

Lady Elizabeth Basset, DCVO (5 March 1908 – 30 November 2000) was born Lady Elizabeth Legge, the daughter of the 7th Earl of Dartmouth.

On 31 October 1931, she married Ronald Lambert Basset (1898–1972) and they had two children, Bryan Ronald (b. 1932) and Peter Francis (1935 – 1954). From 1959 to 1981, she was an Extra Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, then a Woman of the Bedchamber from 1981 to 1993 and an Extra Woman again from 1993 to her death. Lady Elizabeth died in 2000, aged 92 in London.

Lady Elizabeth Basset is the author of the devotional book "Love Is My Meaning".
