Rhyl railway station is on the Crewe to Holyhead North Wales Coast Line and serves the major holiday resort of Rhyl. There are frequent services to Chester via Prestatyn and Flint, as well as to Bangor and across Anglesey to Holyhead. There are also direct services to Llandudno, Cardiff, London Euston, Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly. The station was once the junction for a branch line to Denbigh, but this was closed in September 1955 [cite web|url=http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/stations/d/denbigh/index.shtml|title=Subterranea Britannica: Denbigh station|accessdate=2008-08-21] .

ervices

As mentioned above, the station is well served by Arriva Trains Wales services between Holyhead and Crewe/Cardiff Central and between Llandudno and Manchester Piccadilly. Trains run hourly in each direction on both of these routes, with through services to each of Crewe and Cardiff (via Shrewsbury & Hereford) every two hours. Virgin Trains operate five through services to London on weekdays, four on Saturdays and two on Sundays.
