10th Street Middle School is an option middle school in Marysville, Washington consisting of grades 6-8, which focuses on higher academic expectations, and an instrument for a regular band class. In "Band" class you can choose from a selection of instruments consisting of Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Tuba, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Trumpets,saxophones, and Percussion (drums).Founded in 1995, 10th Street's population is usually under 180 students. By keeping the population down, teachers can focus on bringing discipline and a higher level of academic expectations.
Every season, concerts are held by certain grades. Winter concerts, Spring concerts, and Fall concerts.
At the beginning of 2008 10th Street was on Tenth Street. But later in the year they moved the students to a new school on the Tulalip Reservation. The name remains "10th Street", and the mascot is still a bulldog. The new building shares a campus with Arts & Technology High School and Heritage High School.
Recently, Shelley Meddaugh, 10th Street's previous band teacher, retired from teaching, and was replaced by Nathan Sackman, who has his own band.
