Lü Lingqi is the fictional name given to the daughter of Lü Bu and his first wife Lady Yan. When Lü Bu controlled Xu Province, which he seized from Liu Bei shortly after Tao Qian's death, Yuan Shu wished to strengthen their relationship by a marriage alliance. Lü Lingqi was to be wedded to Yuan Shu's son, Yuan Yao. Lü Bu, however, was strong in force at the time and arrogantly refused the marriage alliance.

When Liu Bei turned to Cao Cao for aid, Lü Bu was surrounded by their coalition at Xiapi and sought reinforcements from Yuan Shu. Lü Bu sent Zhang Liao and Hao Meng to deliver a letter to Yuan Shu offering his daughter's hand in marriage. Yuan Shu was offended by Lü Bu's earlier denial and refused to send troops until Lü Lingqi was in his son's hand. Zhang Liao and Hao Meng had no choice but to return with such request. On their way back, however, Hao Meng was captured by Zhang Fei and the plot leaked out after the death of Hao Meng to Cao Cao. Lü Bu reluctantly accept Yuan Shu's request on Zhang Liao's return and rode out of Xiapi along with Lü Lingqi on his back with Zhang Liao and Gao Shun as escorts. Liu Bei's troops, however, attacked fiercely forcing Lü Bu to withdraw and the ploy was abandoned. Sometime later Lü Bu was captured and executed by Cao Cao at Liu Bei's recommendation.

In Dynasty Warriors 4, she is an unseen character in the Battle of Xiapi. When his morale is low enough, Lu Bu will send a carriage with his daughter to Yuan Shu (the player has the choice to destroy the carriage, thus preventing Yuan Shu's reenforcements from arriving).
