William H. Hall High School is a four-year public high school located in West Hartford, Connecticut. It is one of two public high schools in the West Hartford Public Schools, the other being Conard High School.

Enrollment in grades 9-12 for the 2006-2007 school year was 1604 students.

The current principal is Donald J. Slater, who, in 2004, came back from service in the Second Iraq War.

School colors are blue and white, and the mascot is the "Warrior".

Hall has an intense and long running cross-town rivalry with Conard High School, as both high schools are noted for their superior academics and athletic teams, specifically soccer, lacrosse, baseball, tennis, and cross-country for the Warriors. In 2006, the school's long-suffering football team had its best season in over a decade, finishing with a 9-1 record and qualifying for the CIAC state playoffs, the team was led by 6-foot tall freshman Bryan Febles who had a team and state high 10 interceptions, 3 of which were returned for touchdowns. He was recently added to ESPNs Top 20 High School football players in the world! [ [http://www.casciac.org/scripts/fb_standings06.cgi Football League Standings ] ] Among the Warriors' victories, and most satisfying, was their 24-14 win over Conard, their first since winning 21-20 in 2001 and 19-7 in 2003. In soccer, hall high school has a long and glorious tradition, having reached the semifinals of the state tournament four times under head coach Zeke Segundo. Integral to the success of the team are the hall soccer superfans, a traveling board of supporters who frequently get into brawls with rival fan groups, and usually lose.

Controversies

In 2006, two Hall students, Ezra Silk and Ben Kudler, were suspended from the staff of the school newspaper - Hall Highlights - after attempting to publish an article detailing the prevalence of alcohol in the lives of many of the school's high achievers. After a press controversy [ [http://www.highschooljournalism.org/Content.cfm?mode=0&newsid=406&id=65 Scholastic Journalism In The News ] ] they were allowed to distribute their paper at Hall, although not through Highlights. The staff of Highlights claimed that the article was not printed due to the fact that the material in the article was poorly written and riddled with rumor and falsehood.
