Delasónica

Delasónica

Delasónica is a latin rock group from Colima, Mexico. The group consists of five men who are according to themselves, "influenced by contemporary music, the pop culture, graphic design, the city, the beach, with a little brain damage from the damn injustice of life, unrequited love and the excessive volume of their guitars."Fact|date=October 2007

Mario Durán, Alan Esparza and Jorge Rodríguez have played together since the alterative rock movement of the 90’s, which motivated them to form a band. The lead singer, Lizandro “Chompi” Fernández, joined the band after being part of several local bands, including an alternative project in Jalapa, Veracruz. Together they moved to the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, where they made new contacts, gained public acceptance, and recorded an album with La Cueva Records. Less than satisfied with that recording, they returned to the City of Colima. At the time, the city had been nearly destroyed by the 2003 earthquake. Beto “Slash” Ramirez returned to the band after playing for a few years in the band La Adixion.

The members of Delasónica are each influenced by their own heroes – such as Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Jumbo, Zurdok and Red Hot Chili Peppers. They promote an alternative style with the friendliness of pop, sometimes acoustic, sometimes low-fi and strident. Their latest production, “"Ven a Ver"”, showcases the band’s unique sound, musical experimentation, and unconventional rehearsal style.
