Singapore History Museum

The Singapore History Museum (abbreviation: SHM; Chinese: 新加坡历史博物馆) was the name for the National Museum of Singapore from 1993 to 2006. The museum was one of the three national museums of Singapore, and was housed at the National Museum Building till 2003 and later at Riverside Point until 2006. The museum houses Singapore artifacts, photos and replicas of Singapore's history. Its original and permanent location is at Stamford Road, which was closed on 28 April 2003 for major upgrading works and to build a new wing on the old Drama Centre site. The building was completed in 2006 and re-opened as the National Museum of Singapore, its former name adopted in 1965 and used till 1993.

There was a permanent exhibition at Riverside Point, known as "Rivertales", the exhibition started from 28 August 2003 and ended on 6 March 2006 to prepare for the move back to Stamford Road.
