Asante Kotoko are one of the most successful football (soccer) clubs in Ghana as well as Africa, having won twenty one national league titles. They have also twice been champions of Africa. The club's home ground is the 51,500 all-seater Kumasi Sports Stadium. The full name of the club is Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

History

Asante Kotoko were founded by Kwasi Kumah, an Ashanti. The club was formally named in 1935 by its founding patron, Otumfuo Nana Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, who held what was by then the ceremonial position of Asantehene.
