- Weston, Washington
Weston, Washington began life sometime in the 1880s. Not much is known about this tiny
railway town other than at some point it was home to some railway facilities for theNorthern Pacific Railway , including a possible turntable, aroundhouse for extrasteam engines to help trains to get up the steep grade toStampede Pass and a station. There was also a large loop similar to the nearbyBorup Loop known as theWeston Loop to further facilitate easier ascension up the 2.2 percent grade. The first blow to Weston was in the early 1890s when the order was given by Northern Pacific to move the facilities of Weston up the Green River to the town ofLester, Washington . The final blow came in 1914 when the railway was turned into adouble track fromLester, Washington toEaston, Washington and a longtrestle was installed over the Green River.Geography
The exact location of Weston, Washington is still unknown, however it was most likely along the Green River southeast of
Lester, Washington and east ofEnumclaw, Washington . Old maps show it as being near the confluence of Green River and Intake Creek. Somewhere near coord|47|12|14|N|121|24|42|W|. There are many long overgrown man-made clearings in this area and evidence of the original rail line cut through the trees.External links
