She Wants Revenge is an American band, based in San Fernando Valley, California. Their debut album was released in early 2006, with three singles to follow ("These Things", which features Shirley Manson from Garbage, "Out of Control" and "Tear You Apart" for which the video was directed by Joaquin Phoenix). The band has sold more than 300,000 records in the US.

The band's second album, "This Is Forever", was released on October 9, 2007.

History

In 2007, the group was featured on the track "Time" with Timbaland. In a recent interview, Adam Bravin told Suicide Girls that She Wants Revenge has a lot of unreleased potential b-sides, like "Love to Sleep," which they'd like to share. Recently, they have been released from their contract with the label Geffen/Interscope, according to a MySpace bulletin, alongside acts like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails who have recently declared independence. The group formed their own label, Perfect Kiss, formerly an imprint, in 2008.

A recent bulletin on MySpace announced that the group has been in the studio working on their new album, which they feel is their "most amazing material" yet.

Genre

Musically, their influences range from the dance of 1980s acts like New Order, Depeche Mode and Prince and the alternative rock groups of he 1990s, such as Pulp, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth to the darker rock bands of the new wave and post-punk movements such as Bauhaus and The Sisters of Mercy [ [http://www.myspace.com/justinhell Justin Warfield's Myspace: Influences] ] who helped create the aesthetics of the original gothic rock genre. She Wants Revenge have been compared to the rock band Interpol in the music press because both vocalists (Paul Banks and Justin Warfield) draw influence from the baritone vocal range of Ian Curtis (from Joy Division). However, Justin Warfield states his band is more electronically based.
