Professor Randolph M. Nesse, M.D. (b. 1948) is an American
evolutionary biologist . He is notable for his research onevolutionary psychology andDarwinian medicine , as well as the evolutionary origins of emotions and hownatural selection shapes the capacity for mood.Nesse is a
professor ofpsychology at theUniversity of Michigan ,Ann Arbor and aprofessor ofpsychiatry at theUniversity of Michigan Medical School . He is also the Director of the Evolution & Human Adaptation Program at University of Michigan.References
