The GE 70-ton switcher is a 4-axle diesel locomotive built by General Electric between about 1947 and 1955. It is classified as a B-B type locomotive.

Nearly 50 years later the Modesto & Empire Traction Reporting mark|MET uses nine of these reliable 70-ton locomotives (MET No. 600-609) on their railroad along with two former SP SW1500s. These locomotives were also used extensively by the Santa Maria Valley Railroad Reporting mark|SMV.
