NEXST

NEXST

The NEXST is a supersonic jet being created by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It will be designed to have a range of 12000km, carry 300 passengers, and have 75% less harmful emissions. On July 13, 2002, a .1 scale model was launched for the purpose of determining how well the supersonic boom sound is a halved at extreme speeds. The launch failed miserably though with the supporting rocket detaching immediately and crashing to ground leaving the prototype also destroyed. On October 10, 2005,the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency successfully launched another prototype and were able to acquire telemetry data.
