The Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) is an institution of higher learning in the province of Catanduanes in the Philippines. It was established in June 19, 1971 by virtue of Republic Act 6341,authored by the late Catanduanes Congressman Jose M. Alberto, which converted the Virac National Agricultural and Trade School into the Catanduanes State Colleges. On July 8, 1972, Republic Act 6590 provided for opening of additional courses at CSC. The are Associate of Arts in Nursing, Associate of Arts in Education, Associate in Commerce, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Bachelor of Science in Business Education, Bachelor of Science in Education, Master of Arts Education and Master of Arts Commerce.

Located in the provincial capital Virac, CSC primarily serves Catandunganons, the residents of Catanduanes. Students from other provinces in the Bicol Region (Region V) and the Visayas also enrol in its different degree offerings.

Mandate

The Catanduanes State Colleges is mandated to carry out its four-fold functions of instruction, extension, research and production.

As such, CSC shall strive to enrich its offerings in the undergraduate and graduate degree programs and offer courses relevant to regional and national development thrust to provide manpower requirements of the province, other places in the region and the country in general.

It shall likewise embark into in research programs and activities that will help uplift the standards of living of the marginalized sector along its service area, develop a culture of research and enhance research capability to support the development thrust of the province, region and the nation.

Furthermore, it shall strengthen extension service activities to bring research advancement to the service area, and improve revenue generation capability through maximum use of physical, technical and human resources.

Philosophy

The Catanduanes State Colleges is an institution of higher learning which pursues the overriding philosophy of streamlining its offerings to promote the socio-economic condition of its clientele.

Mission

The institution seeks to assist in the provincial, regional and national development efforts through the delivery of relevant instruction and extension service and the pursuance of research activities congruent to provincial, regional and national development thrust.

Vision

The CSC serves as a creative catalyst of change and dynamic center of excellence, promoting equity for a meaningful, relevant and quality education based on value systems and a holistic development of man thus providing globally competitive manpower resources and state-of-the-art technology for sustainable development and intellectual leadership. The College emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and formation of skills necessary to make every Catandunganon and Bicolano a productive member of the society.
