Neil Turk

Neil Turk

Neil Richard Keith Turk (born April 28, 1983, Cuckfield) is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed specialist batsman with occasional right-arm medium-pace bowling, as well as a FIFA approved referee.

Turk received an official berth in the Sussex squad in 2005,[1] though his debut for the county's second XI came in July 2002, and his debut for the first XI in September at Essex where he scored 36,[2] which remained his highest List A score. At the end of the 2006 season, Turk was released from Sussex, with his "perceived lack of future opportunity" cited as reason for his departure.[3] He played one first class match, scoring 24 and bowling three wicketless overs against the touring Sri Lankans in 2006. In addition to the three matches played for the senior side, Turk played 69 games for various Second XIs,[4] making 2,478 runs at a batting average of 32.60 with two centuries.[5] He also played club cricket for East Grinstead[6] and Wimbledon. A spell as a 'Games teacher'? at St Albans School followed, before he left at Easter 2010 to resume his cricketing career. Other notable accomplishments include an appearance in the EA made video game 'Cricket 2005'.
