Corsham Town F.C. is a football club based in Corsham, Wiltshire, England, that competes in the Western Football League. The manager of the club is Trevor Rawlings.

History

Corsham Town was founded in 1884 and played in the Wiltshire Football League for many years, failing to win any silverware, until Gary Lock became manager and began the road to success winning the Addkey Senior Cup. His was a short tenure, and Lock was followed by Peter Tripp who led the club to becoming champions for the first time in 1997-98, also winning the Addkey Senior Cup along with the Wilts Senior Cup. After spending six years in Division One, they were promoted to the Premier Division in 2004 after finishing fifth in new manager Colin Bush's first season at the helm. They finished runners up to Bideford in their first two seasons in the Western League's top division and were crowned as champions for the 2006-2007 season, winning the division by two points from Bridgwater Town. Bush decided to step down after four years at the helm, and former Wiltshire Under 18s manager Mel Gingell was appointed with the job of rebuilding the side, after many of the championship winning team decided to leave the Southbank for pastures new. In an impressive first season, Gingell's young charges finished fifth in the league, despite a lengthy touchline ban for the new manager. 2008/09 has seen Corsham Town begin a period of consolidation as they look to push for honours once again in the coming seasons.

Cup exploits

Corsham Town has a relatively short history in the FA Cup and FA Vase. Thus far their best result was a third round appearance in the 2006-07 Vase, in which they lost at Bideford 3-1. The club has also won the Wiltshire Senior Cup on several occasions, recently retaining the trophy for three consecutive seasons (2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07), and also triumphed in the Les Phillips Cup in 2005/06, beating Willand Rovers with a last minute winner.
