Around 1400 pupils attend the college. New developments in recent years have been a fence around the school to keep pupils in, as well as patrols out of the school to prevent pupils from truanting or going into
Pocklington for lunch. The scheme is widely believed to have failed, based on the large number of Woldgate pupils that can be seen on a daily basis around the Pocklington town centre.History
The school was also awarded specialist status and received a grant for developments in the area of "Performing Arts". A new music block was built, with hi-tech equipment such as a music studio, a dance studio, over 30 computers and numerous practice rooms.
Its library (Independant Learning Centre - ILC) has been converted into a room for homework help and computer access.
The RE rooms as they were from 1972-94 are now a gymnasium, containing the very latest in keep-fit equipment, including a collection of
dumbbell s made from vulcanised rubber.2003 arson attack
The school gained notoriety in 2003 when a group of youths committed an arson attack against the technology building.
