Jomo Cosmos are a South African football (soccer) club based in Johannesburg that participates in the Premier Soccer League. The club is owned and coached by South African soccer legend Jomo "Black Prince" Sono.

The club was previously called "Highlands Park", but was changed to its current version in 1982 when Jomo Sono ended his playing career in the USA and decided to name his newly bought club after his former NASL club, the New York Cosmos.

The history of Jomo Cosmos Football Club reflects the general history of soccer in South Africa. This PSL team managed to stand the test of time and has shown good results and achievements that constitute the reason why Cosmos remains the soccer force it is. Jomo Sono is synonymous with all what is good about the sport both at home and abroad. JCFC provide opportunities to the underprivileged boys in soccer development academics.

Jomo Sono's motive for this development has always been to recognise and build raw. Sono's teams accentuated and developed a strong youth policy and through years has gained a reputation for discovery and developing some of the finest talent to have played in the league, for the South African National team and abroad. Under Sono's ownership, the club went on to achieve several successes: it won the National Soccer League in 1987, the Bob Save Super Bowl in 1990, the Coca-Cola Cup in 2002 and 2005 and the SAA Supa 8 in 2003. Jomo Cosmos has also consistently finished among the top teams in the league.

The need to sell players due to lack of financial resources has led JC to be known to soccer administrators as the University of Soccer.

In 2008, Jomo Cosmos were relegated from top-flight football for the first time since 1993.
