December 10 ,1979 inBucharest ) is aRomania n football player who currently playsmidfielder withJupiler League 'sR.E. Mouscron . He played for several clubs includingSteaua Bucharest , Anderlecht,Club Brugge andK.A.A. Gent . He is the son of another professional footballer,Tudorel Stoica .After arriving as a 16-year old at Anderlecht in 1996, from Steaua Bucharest, he became a fan favorite (being nicknamed "Le Petit Prince du Parc Astrid"). However, following a clash with manager
Aimé Anthuenis , Stoica left the club for long-time rival Club Brugge midway through 2002-2003. Previously, he won the Young Professional Footballer of the Year award for the 2000-01 season. After 19 matches and 5 goals to help Brugge clinch the league title, he gradually fell out of favour and left Brugge in January 2005, playing with a further two outfits that season,
Serie A 'sAC Siena (no appearances) and Naţional Bucureşti.In the winter of 2006 he went to
FCU Politehnica Timisoara , at the request ofGheorghe Hagi , the team's then-manager. After a good debut, Stoica caused a bit of turmoil and was sent to the second team due to what was deemed as unprofessional behavior. Ultimately he parted with "Poli" and rejoined the Belgian league in that summer, starting the season atK.A.A. Gent with a "performance-based" contract. In Stoica's first game for Gent, against
R. Charleroi S.C. , a superb pass of his resulted in the 2-1 winning goal. After managerGeorges Leekens left, he was replaced byTrond Sollied , who had already coached him at Brugges. However, Stoica fell out of favour once again. During the winter break he agreed to end his Gent contract and became afree agent . OnJanuary 31 ,2008 , he signed a contract with another Belgian side,R.E. Mouscron .External links
