Sumito

Sumito is the name of a fictional martial art created by Steve Perry for his The Matador series. Sumito is practiced mainly by the members of the Holy Order of the Siblings of the Shroud.

In the acknowledgments of "The Musashi Flex" Perry states that he thought he was inventing The Ninety-Seven Steps but he later learned that Pukulan Pentjak Silat Serak had already done so.

The Ninety-Seven Steps

The Ninety-Seven steps, composed of nineteen shorter dances, is the main dance of Sumito. Each shorter dance contains from one to ten steps. Even masters of other martial arts have trouble dancing more than a handful of the steps without specific training.
