Andy Lloyd

Radio broadcaster & DJ Andy Lloyd, was involved with hospital radio at the Royal Free Network in London before presenting and producing programmes for a number of BBC and commercial radio stations.

United Biscuits Network

He started his radio career as so many others had done at the United Biscuits Network based at the UB factory in Osterley. UBN was a land based radio station transmitting to UB factories in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow 24 hours a day. It was the training ground for many of the UK's most famous radio presenters including Roger Scott, Adrian Love, Nicky Horne, Graham Dene and Dale Winton. [http://www.ubn.org.uk]

Mercia Sound

Lloyd was one of the original line-up on Coventry's Mercia Sound when it opened in 1980. Whilst there, he presented a variety of programmes including breakfast, the rock and new music programmes and a host of late night controversial phone-ins. Jazz FM

In 1992 he became the weekday breakfast show presenter at London's Jazz FM working with Peter Young, Jez Nelson, Malcolm Laycock, Helen Mayhew & Chris Philips. He left when the music policy was changed and the station was no longer playing jazz.

BBC

He worked at BBC Radio Oxford in 1980 alongside Timmy Mallet and Martin Stanford.

He join BBC Radio Bedfordshire when it opened regularly presenting at the weekends and acting as stand in presenter during the week.

He returned to the BBC to present Drive Time at Three Counties Radio in the 1990s and can still be heard on air with them as a fill in presenter. His love of motorsport and radio are combined at Globecast Radio where he presents a weekly programme on Sunday afternoons. [http://www.0157.org/]
