Tom Fool Handicap

The Tom Fool Handicap is an American race for thoroughbred horses run each summer at Belmont Park in New York. The race is a Grade II event which carries a purse of $150,000. The race is open to horses age three and up who are willing to race the seven furlong (1,408 m) dirt distance.

The race is named for Tom Fool, who was champion two-year-old of 1951 and U.S. Horse of the Year in 1953. He is one of four horses to win the New York Handicap Triple which consists of the Metropolitan Handicap, the Suburban Handicap and the Brooklyn Handicap.
