North-South Expressway (NSE) Southern Route, MES-E|2 AHN-AH|2 is the southern route of the North-South Expressway, which is the longest expressway in Malaysia. It is connected by the MES-E|1, and continues on down south. The expressway is roughly oriented in a north-south direction traversing four states in Peninsular Malaysia; namely Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor.

Termini

The NSE Southern Route begins in the southern part of Selangor, at Sungai Besi. Its southern terminus is at Johor Bahru, Johor.

Features

Sungai Besi toll plaza has the highest number of toll booths in Malaysia, thus making Sungai Besi toll plaza the widest road in Malaysia with more than 18 lanes (excluding additional toll booths).

Phase 1: Seremban-Senawang

The 6-lane stretch from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban Interchange MES-EXIT|218 would be expanded to Senawang Interchange MES-EXIT|220. These sections was completed on July 2007

Phase 2: Seremban-Ayer Keroh

Meanwhile, the next phase of these works, Senawang Interchange MES-EXIT|220 would be expanded to Ayer Keroh Interchange MES-EXIT|231. These sections was completed on December 2007.
