Privilege Ibiza

Privilege Ibiza bills itself as the world's largest nightclub with a capacity of 10,000. It is situated near San Rafael, Ibiza, less than a kilometre apart from the nightclub Amnesia and was home to Manumission, probably the island's most famous club night, for 14 years when suddenly, over a dispute between the club owner and Manumission's organisers, the event moved to Amnesia. Originally called Ku, the club was originally a restaurant in the 1970s. The main room is aircraft-hangar size with a 25-meter high roof, and a swimming pool Fact|date=September 2008. It is officially recognised by The Guinness Book of Records as being the largest club in the world.

History

The building was where the video to "Barcelona" by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe was filmed in 1987.

DJ Tiësto announced he will be the resident at Privilege, stating that he will play in Ibiza every Monday, starting on the 7th of July until the 22nd of September. The gigs consist of four hour sets in the style of his In Search of Sunrise (series). Tiësto will start his opening night for the 2008 season with "Tiësto Solo" which is a six-hour set. The residencies will also feature the performance of guest deejays, all selected by Tiësto, such as Chris Lake, Andy Duguid, Mat-Zo, Cosmic Gate, Alex Kunnari and Sander van Doorn. There will be exclusive appearances by Fonzerelli, and Airbase. In the backroom of Privilege, Riley & Durrant present Electrik Playground, supported by Galaxy FM with guest DJs including The Young Punx.
