Guangde County

Guangde County (simplified Chinese: 广德县; pinyin: Guǎngdé Xiàn) is a county in Anhui under the jurisdiction of Xuancheng. Its population is 510,000 and its area is 2165 square kilometers. The government of Guangde County is stationed at Yaozhou Town.

Guangde County has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 10 townships.

Chinese manned space program

China launched and recovered on July 19, 1964 its first successful biological experimental sounding rocket transporting eight white mice from Base 603（安徽广德誓节渡中国科学院603基地）also known as "Guangde Launch Site"（广德发射场）.
