Estadio Jose Pachencho Romero is a soccer stadium located in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. It is catalogued as one of the best soccer stadiums of Venezuela.

It was built for the "Juegos Deportivos Bolivarianos" in 1971. It underwent major remodeling in 1998 for the "Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe" Maracaibo 1998 in which the Venezuelan team won over the Mexican team. The stadium is named after a famous Zulian athlete.

The Jose Pachencho Romero, has natural grass and iron arcades, it has a soccer field of 98 meters long and 68 meters wide, and it can hold up to 35,000 persons. The stadium is conceived for many uses, conformed by a race track of reburned concrete, with 2 to 3 meters of separation. It also has a race track of synthetic material, and to its inside lies the soccer field out of natural grass.

This building is considered a national patrimony and cultural in the state of Zulia under the code IFA '063045'. Its maintenance is under the responsibility of Fundaidem.

Extension and remodeling

From 2006 to 2007 it had a major refurbishing, being a venue for the Copa America 2007, in which it will be the stadium where the final will be played. The addition of two new seating areas behind the goals, and the use of the cycling track, were approved in order to accommodate more people. To make it possible to hold more people for the Final Match, the local committee decided to eliminate the cycling track and build a VIP area with a capacity for 8,000 people in that area.
