Ed Metzger

Ed Metzger

Ed Metzger (born January 23, 1946) is an American actor and writer.

Studying with the eminent drama teacher, Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York, Ed performed in his first movie with Marlon Brando in Carson McCullers', "Reflections in a Golden Eye". Next came a role in Bertolt Brecht's gangster play, "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui", presented at Joe Papp's New York Shakespeare Theater, starring Al Pacino. Ed appeared next with Al Pacino in the classic movie, "Dog Day Afternoon". Moving to the West coast, Ed had several roles in the hit TV show, "Kojak". His next movie appearance was in "Pups", with Burt Reynolds and Mischa Barton. Continuing his stage appearances, Ed Metzger has co-written with his wife, Laya Gelff Metzger, his one-man shows ' and '. Nov.'06, Ed as "Teddy Roosevelt" completed filming "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
