"King Muhammad XI continued to rule over the Royalist part of the country during the North Yemen Civil War which erupted when he was deposed in the Republican coup d'etat in September 1962 and lasted until May 1970. From 1967 he ruled from exile in at-Ta´if, Saudi Arabia".
