Leigh Colbert (born 7 June 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer for Geelong and North Melbourne in the Australian Football League.

He made his debut with Geelong in 1993 and became a fearless player, usually playing off half-back, but then found his way as a key position player.

He was awarded Geelong's captaincy in 1999, but did not play a game that season due to injury. The falling out between the club and Colbert caused great controversy. Many Geelong supporters still harbour deep resentment against Colbert for abandoning the club whilst in the role of captain.

In 2000 Colbert moved to the Kangaroos where he became a tough fearless player, mostly holding up full-back or centre half-back.

In 2004 Colbert was appointed the Kangaroos delegate for the AFL Player's Association.

In 2005 at only 30 years of age, Colbert announced his retirement. The continual punishment of AFL football apparently left Colbert with the body of a 35-year-old, according to some doctors.fact|date=August 2008

In 2006 he joined the West Coast Eagles as one of their back-room staff. It was on a part-time basis, based in Melbourne.

Currently he is a boundary rider for Fox Sports. He also does post-match interviews and one-on-one interviews for Fox Sports AFL. Post-match interviews in the rooms include Ablett brothers. One-on-one interviews include Adam Simpson on his 250th game for the Kangaroos.

Being a 'rookie' is boundary riding, he has made many comical errors during his boundary riding career including referring to Port Adelaide as the "Port Adelaide Crows" and constantly correcting himself most times he speaks. He is very popular because of this.fact|date=August 2008
